Croydon schools go back on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and the 2026-27 school year ends on Thursday 22 July 2027, according to the calendar published by London Borough of Croydon. October half term is 26 to 30 October 2026. Christmas holidays run from 21 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, with pupils back on Monday 4 January 2027. February half term is 15 to 19 February 2027. The Easter holidays cover 26 March to 9 April 2027, taking in Good Friday and Easter Monday. May half term is 31 May to 4 June 2027. The summer holidays start on Friday 23 July 2027. What is particular about Croydon
Croydon's dates apply to most local authority schools, but voluntary aided schools in particular may set different holiday and term dates.
The council's PDF counts 195 school days in 2026-27 (38, 35, 30, 24, 34 and 34 per half term); pupils attend 190 and schools add 5 training days.
Schools which close for local elections are required to extend the summer term or make the closure coincide with an inset day.

In 2027-28 the spring term runs to Friday 31 March 2028 and the summer term starts on Tuesday 18 April 2028, the day after Easter Monday.
