Purpose of the site

The site republishes the school term and holiday dates set by local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales and the common closure dates of Northern Ireland, with free tools to check a date, count days and compare two areas. It is independent and has no link with any council, the Department for Education, the Scottish or Welsh Government or the Department of Education in Northern Ireland. A school may set dates that differ from its council's: the school's own calendar prevails. Method: how the dates are checked.

Liability

Each date is read on the official page shown with it and tested by software, without any guarantee that no error or late change remains. The publisher cannot be held liable for a booking, a missed day or an absence penalty based only on this site. Errors can be reported on the contact page.

Intellectual property and reuse

Texts, graphics and code belong to the publisher. Term dates published by councils, GOV.UK bank holiday data and legislation are public sector information reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0, with the source named on each page.
