What is particular about Wirral
Wirral Council says each school's governing body sets its own five INSET days in addition to the dates it lists.
Wirral calls the spring holiday the 'Easter and spring break': 26 March to 9 April 2027, including the Easter bank holidays.
The late May break in summer 2028 is called the 'Whit half-term' on the council page: 29 May to 2 June 2028.
The summer holiday 2028 starts on 24 July, with the September 2028 return date still to be confirmed.
The May Bank Holiday on Monday 3 May 2027 falls inside an open period of the summer term.
The council page says each governing body of a school is responsible for setting five INSET days during the school year and asks parents to contact the school directly.
