October holiday is 12 to 16 October 2026. Christmas holidays run from 21 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, with pupils back on Tuesday 5 January 2027. February mid-term is 15 to 16 February 2027, only 2 days. The Easter holidays cover 5 to 16 April 2027, after the Easter weekend. The summer holidays start on Monday 28 June 2027. What is particular about North Lanarkshire
Teachers return on Monday 10 August 2026 for two in-service days and pupils return on Wednesday 12 August 2026.
North Lanarkshire places an in-service day on a Monday in November (16 November 2026 and 15 November 2027).
Schools close for the September weekend (a Friday and Monday) and again for the May weekend at the end of May.
Thursday 6 May 2027 is an in-service day to coincide with the Scottish Government elections.
